Farnham Foodbank
An initiative set up by Christians from several Farnham churches, Farnham Foodbank helps alleviate the unavoidable delay between people suffering emotional or financial crisis, and state support becoming available. Their website can be found here:- https://farnham.foodbank.org.uk/
Friends Together
Friends Together is a group supporting those who are bereaved through the difficult days, weeks, months and even years following their loss. The group currently meet on the 2nd and 4th Monday afternoons at the Riverside Café (Farnham Maltings); also by “Zoom” on some Monday evenings. Friends Together is run by volunteers, who are not trained counsellors or medical practitioners, but people with a listening ear and time for others. Frontline Farnham (Debt Advice)
Frontline (Farnham) is a branch of Frontline Debt Advice (UK), a charity with offices across the south of England. Frontline offers free and confidential debt, benefit and money advice to anyone, irrespective of race, religion, age, gender or disability, who is in financial distress. Citizens Advice
Citizens Advice has provided free, confidential and independent advice for more than 80 years. Adapting to the ever changing needs of society has made Citizens Advice the most recognised and trusted provider of information and advice in the country. As an established part of many local communities we are in almost every town and city in the country. Most recently, in 2023 Citizens Advice South West Surrey came into existence through a merger of Citizens Advice Waverley and Citizens Advice Guildford & Ash. Farnham Town Council
The Farnham Support Fund aims to provide financial support or assistance to individuals and families in Farnham who find themselves facing difficult circumstances due to financial pressures. Applications up to £350 are invited from Farnham residents who need urgent assistance with essentials such as paying for gas or electric, school uniform, replacing essential appliances, acquiring equipment such as wheelchair or care alarms or getting furniture. Care Farnham
Care Farnham is an established small charity (since 1986) , providing help to local residents, living within the Farnham Town boundary, who need lifts to doctors, hospital and other health-related appointments. More information can be found here:- Home - Care Farnham
Williams Club
Membership is open to all visually impaired people living in Farnham, and, for as long as the member attends the club, we also welcome their partner as a visitor. There is no membership fee and no charge for the monthly meetings. The Club was started in the late 1950s by Mr Ben Williams and his sister Evelyn. They ran the club for 30 years until 1986 when they handed over to a committee. In recognition of their work, the club has been renamed “The Williams Club – helping Sight Loss in Farnham” Now about 30 people regularly attend our meetings. Brightwells Gostrey
Brightwells Gostrey has been at the heart of the community for older people for nearly 40 years. They provide a warm and friendly environment for senior citizens to meet. Offering a variety of vital services including door to door transport, freshly cooked meals, daily activities, exercise, arts and crafts, games and much more. Farnham hoppa
Farnham hoppa offers Demand Responsive Transport within Farnham to enable clients to visit destinations such as town centre, libraries, medical facilities, supermarkets or garden centres. Home Instead
Since Home Instead’s formation in 1994, their aim has always been to enhance the lives of ageing adults and their families by delivering the best quality home care possible. Farnham ASSIST is delighted to be partnering with Home Instead through the provision of an accessible taxi and volunteer driver to attend the monthly Central community lunch in Farnham. Jack & Alice
Jack & Alice is a neighbourhood restaurant and bar in the heart of the local community, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. They are a family business and work with the best local suppliers to deliver high quality fresh food and drinks for their guests to enjoy. Farnham ASSIST is delighted to be partnering with Jack and Alice for Jack’s Lunch Club which hosts around 20 older people for a subsidised community lunch.
